SARI TARAZI

Sari Tarazi is a self-taught Palestinian artist and photographer, born in Jerusalem. He holds a BA in Contemporary Visual Art from Birzeit University, which he received in 2023.

Tarazi was a participant in the 2024 Arab Documentary Photography Program (ADPP). He is the co-founder of El-Ghorfeh, a darkroom and experiment lab for analog photography and alternative processes located in Ramallah. His practice explores light, perception, and the chemistry of image-making, blending analog and digital processes to emphasize materiality and deliberate slowness. Drawing on scientific curiosity and process-based experimentation, his work reflects an engagement with the layered realities of his surrounding environment.

Tarazi achieved the second place in the Spring Award 2023, known as the Sliman Mansour and Nabil Anani Award, for his artwork Armed with Noise, which was Organized by the Palestinian Art Collective in collaboration with the Khalil Sakakini Cultural Center.
