Artist Biography
Sana Bishara was born in Nazareth in 1964. She graduated from the Neri Bloomfield Academy of Design and Education in Haifa in 1985 and she obtained a BA in Fine Arts and Sociology from the University of Haifa, followed by a degree in Museology.
Bishara is one of the most prominent Palestinian artists producing bronze sculptures today. Her work revolves around the figure of the woman; her sculptures are delicately casted with simple balanced shapes that invite contemplation when viewed. Bishara is best known for her multi-piece sculptures from which the viewer can sense an evolving narrative.
Sana Bishara has taught art at a number of schools and community centers, and has served as the Director of Art Education for Arab Schools at the Janco Dada Museum, Ein Hod. Her work has been exhibited in numerous exhibitions locally and internationally. Many of her sculptures are installed in both public spaces as well as private collections. She won an honorary prize for Haifa artists in 2000, and of the Herman Struck Prize from the city of Haifa in 2007.
Sana Sculptures was born in Acre in 1982, and graduated with a BFA degree from Bezalel Academy in Jerusalem in 2002.
