Monther Jawabreh was born in 1976 in Al-Aroub refugee camp in Palestine. He graduated from Al-Najah National University, Nablus in 2001. Jawabreh works in a variety of media, ranging from painting to video art and performance, and also interactive and experimental media based on ongoing research work. In 2010 Jawabreh was an artist in residency at “Internationale des Arts Cite” in Paris, and since then his work has taken a conceptual dimension. Jawabreh’s works were presented and exhibited in several solo exhibitions in Palestine and abroad, and also in many more group exhibitions, and participated in many artist workshops and residences in Europe and the Arab world. Monther Jawabreh is considered an activist-artist at the personal and institutional level, and he took part in founding and administrating some of the art institutes in Palestine, in addition to his work as a teacher in Palestinian universities and educational centers. Jawabreh lives and works in Bethlehem.
