Through object and image creation, time-based interventions, and research, Yassin explores various mediums such as sculpture, video, installation, and painting. Her socially engaged practice delves into the cultural shifts in Palestinian society since the late 1980s. By documenting changes in the urban landscape and observing the evolution of social life in Palestine, her work uncovers the politics and aesthetics of transformation on both personal and communal levels.

INASS YASSIN

Inas Yassin is an artist, curator, and former director of Birzeit University Museum. Working with object and image making, time, and research-based intervention, Yassin employs a range of media, including sculpture, video, installation, and painting. Her practice examines social shifts within Palestinian culture since the late 1980s.

By tracing incidents in the transforming cityscape and observing changes in social life in Palestine, her work reveals the politics and aesthetics of transformation at both private and collective levels. In her collaborative projects, she invites communities to reflect on forces that have dramatically reshaped social realities.

Yassin has exhibited her work in Palestine and internationally, including in New York, Portland, Leipzig, Oslo, Eindhoven, and Dubai, and has participated in residencies in Braziers, United Kingdom; Makan, Jordan; and Cittadella Arte, Italy.
