Rahaf Haj Ali (b. 2002, Nablus) is a recent graduate of Birzeit University, where she studied contemporary visual arts. Her experimental practice incorporates diverse mediums, including painting, mixed media, sculpture, and Arabic calligraphy, reflecting her dynamic approach to materials.
Rahaf’s work delves into the environmental and human impact of excavation and mining industries in her hometown of Jama’in, a village known for its construction stone. Her graduation project, Choking, combines sculpture and painting using sand and clay on wooden boards. The series critically examines the pollution, health risks, and drastic transformation of the natural landscape caused by these industries. Rahaf has participated in several exhibitions for emerging artists, presenting a powerful artistic perspective deeply tied to her local environment.
