HASSAN MANASRAH

Hassan Manasrah is a Palestinian-Jordanian visual artist, printmaker, and comic creator whose career began in 2000. He pursued his education in applied arts with a focus on interior design at Al-Balqa Applied University and furthered his studies in fine arts painting at the Jordanian Fine Art Center. To further expand his knowledge of the arts and printmaking, he participated in workshops on lithography, zinc, copper, lino, and monoprint at the Jordan National Museum of Fine Arts.

In 2006, Hassan Manasrah held his first solo exhibition, “Urban Mood,” which featured 25 lithographs and an ironwork installation. This exhibition marked the beginning of his prolific career, showcasing his unique approach to printmaking and installation art. Over the years, he has actively participated in numerous group exhibitions across a wide range of countries, including Palestine, Qatar, Jordan, Syria, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Algeria, Spain, Germany, and Switzerland. His versatility as an artist is evident in his roles as a storyteller, picture book illustrator, and comic creator. His work even expands to social statements, advocating for Palestinians in his illustrations, and commenting on the injustices that they have to be consistently subjected to.

Hassan Manasrah has participated in various exhibitions. One of his notable solo exhibitions, titled “Everyday Rhythm,” was held at the Fire Station in Qatar in 2019. This exhibition featured acrylic paintings on canvas and paper, reflecting his ongoing exploration of rhythm and daily life through art. Manasrah’s career in animation includes his role as an assistant art director for the international cartoon series “Pink Panther & Pals,” produced by MGM & Rubicon Group Holding from 2008 to 2010, where he was involved in producing approximately 30 picture books.

His work has garnered several awards, particularly for his contributions to animation and picture books. Central to Manasrah’s artistic practice is the human experience, with the nature of human beings serving as the primary source of inspiration for his works.
