Ahed Izhiman was born in Jerusalem in 1980. He studied art at the Fine Arts Academy in Florence, Italy. In 2012, he founded ARTLAB, an organization that helped youth in Jerusalem learn arts, where he volunteered with other artists. His skills in photography led him to work with various aid organizations as a photographer.
He participated in several local and international exhibitions and was commissioned by the Palestinian Museum to produce an artwork on Jerusalem which he titled “The Ring”. Through this artwork, he shed the light on the illegal Israeli settlements suffocating Jerusalem. Izhiman is interested in exploring issues related to landscape, water, environment, religion, and politics. He uses a variety of mediums in his artworks. He continues to work on a major visual art project related to the Dead Sea.
